The DTMAN project aims to create a flexible platform for hosting Digital Twins that can represent products and/or production processes in real time. The main purpose of the Digital Twin proposed is the real-time modeling and simulation of the mechanical/intra-logistic production process using data from production systems and provided by sensors and IoT gateways, and also analyzing behavior with Artificial Intelligence techniques to predict potential deviations from targets, increases or decreases in performance, and product quality issues, all aimed at optimizing production processes both technologically and economically.
The Digital Twin will consist of a modular platform of software components (edge computing, cloud computing) for the various functionalities involved: interfaces to data sources (retrofitting sensors and direct connection to machine tools and CNC), user interfaces (on mobile devices and on-line with PC Panel), data management, artificial intelligence techniques for anomaly detection and trend forecasting.
The development of this platform will enable Santer Reply to accelerate its internal transformation aimed at offering Digital Twins for the manufacturing industry as the main application of Industry 4.0 for manufacturing companies.
The Digital Twin of the manufacturing line (precision metalworks) of Officina Meccanica Tau will be developed, connected, and activated as the main result of the project, and will be made available to CIM 4.0 as a live demonstrator of the technology.
