The MOBIS2 project is part of the Advanced Manufacturing sector, following the Smart Production direction within the scope of Energy Efficiency.
The project proposer is BeonD srl, an innovative SME, initially an innovative start-up and spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Turin, founded in December 2013, operating in the Automotive sector, in partnership with MERLO PROJECT.
The project aims to develop a next-generation Battery Module equipped with an advanced BMS (Battery Management System), for improved reliability, performance repeatability, and extended battery recharge cycles.
With this highly innovative yet general-purpose battery module, BeonD aims to standardize its offering for the design and production of battery packs for special applications, such as: Motorsport, Supercars, Prototypes and Development Mules, Industrial Vehicles, and Commercial Vehicles.
This appropriately connected standard module will meet customer requirements for both low voltage (48-60V) and high voltage (600-800V) applications and will comply with existing mechanical safety standards (FMVSS, ECE, GBT) and electrical safety standards (UN 38.3).
MERLO PROJECT, together with BeonD, is interested in evaluating this application on its own electric vehicles, which are currently produced with lead-acid batteries for reasons of reliability and cost. MERLO PROJECT intends to convert its traction batteries to Lithium batteries to meet market demands.
Achieving the project objectives will enable the proposing companies to be more competitive in their target market thanks to the innovations introduced by achieving the project objectives.
