Paolo Calefati

Paolo Calefati serves as the CEO for the Altform Group, formerly Prima Additive. In his role, he focuses on innovation strategy, strategic partnerships in business development for additive manufacturing and innovative technologies.
Following his experience as a researcher at the National Research Council and in the field of artificial intelligence at the University of Alberta (Canada), he began his professional career at Prima Industrie, where he also earned a Master of Business Administration from the School of Business Administration at the University of Turin.
In his role, he collaborates with European universities and research centers on innovation projects aimed at developing new technologies for industrial and production processes in the fields of photonics and laser processes, with particular attention to Industry 4.0 topics for smart and green manufacturing and advanced manufacturing systems, such as additive manufacturing.

He has coordinated several European projects, including Whiter (white room based on reconfigurable robotic island for optoelectronics components), Borealis (The 3A energy class flexible machine for new additive and subtractive manufacturing on next generation of 3D metal parts), ICP4LIFE (Integrated Collaborative Platform for managing the product service Engineering Lifecycle), 4D hybrid additive technologies, and the STAMP project (Additive Manufacturing Technological Development in Piedmont) within the regional Piedmontese program Intelligent Factory.

He participates in European and national research programs, being part of the stakeholder board of the European platform Photonics21, the board of the European additive manufacturing platform (AMEF), and is part of the management and control body of the “Intelligent Factory Cluster”. He is a board member of the European public-private partnership “Factory of the Future”. He is an interim member of the supervisory board of the EIT (European Institute of Technology) Manufacturing.
