Intelligent robotics becomes more accessible for Italian manufacturing companies. The CIM Competence Center and ARTES 4.0 have signed a collaboration agreement leading to the creation of a Joint Lab between Turin and Pontedera (PI), designed to support SMEs, large companies, system integrators, and startups in adopting advanced robotic technologies.
Two competence centers, one goal
The result of the collaboration is an ecosystem where companies can access robotic solutions ranging from collaborative robots to humanoid robotics, with support covering the entire innovation journey: from experimentation (TRL 3) to industrial implementation (TRL 9).
Testing, training, and integration
The Joint Lab offers tangible services to reduce the technological risk for companies. Through the “test before invest” model, companies can experiment with robotic solutions before proceeding with significant investments. This is complemented by applied technical training programs and specialist consulting to integrate intelligent robotics into production processes, from automotive to aerospace, from logistics to maintenance.
“The Joint Lab aims to be a national reference with a wide range of value-added services, from training to the implementation of smart robotics technologies in different industrial sectors,” explains Enrico Pisino, CEO of CIM – “with ARTES 4.0 we offer a dashboard of customizable solutions to enhance the technological competitiveness of companies and strengthen their leadership at the national, European, and international levels.”
Towards Embodied Intelligence
The initiative is positioned at a crucial moment for industrial robotics. The evolution towards Embodied Intelligence and the increasingly advanced integration between robotics and artificial intelligence are opening new possibilities for manufacturing.
“We provide tools, methodologies, and advanced experimental environments to accelerate the transition towards competitive manufacturing, with tangible benefits in terms of productivity, quality, and safety,” emphasizes Antonio Frisoli, President of ARTES 4.0. “The Joint Lab offers access to the most advanced robotic solutions available on the market, including humanoid robotics systems integrated with advanced AI.”
The Joint Lab represents a strategic infrastructure for Italian companies that want to compete globally, making robotic innovation more accessible and measurable, with a particular focus on supporting SMEs.
