The Fluently project, developed in collaboration with an international consortium of 22 academic and industrial partners, aims to create a robotic platform capable of fostering social collaboration between humans and machines, leveraging the most advanced artificial intelligence techniques.
Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, Fluently aims to develop an innovative AI-based wearable device, capable of enabling industrial robots to interpret human language, gestures, and emotions. These signals will be converted into operational instructions, with the intent of improving the effectiveness of collaborative activities and the well-being of workers.
The project focuses its applications on three physically and cognitively intensive industrial sectors: the disassembly and recycling of e-bike and electric vehicle batteries; inspection and assembly activities in the aerospace industry; the refurbishment of complex industrial components through laser processing.
Alongside the development of the intelligent interface that will enable robots to understand and adapt to human behaviors, Fluently plans the creation of a dedicated training center: the RoboGym. This will be a space where people and robots can practice and refine increasingly harmonious interaction methods, with the aim of improving the quality and efficiency of industrial processes.
