Vincenzo Lunetto

Born in Palermo in 1993, Vincenzo Lunetto earned his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Management, Production and Design from the Polytechnic University of Turin, specializing in Circular Economy, Life Cycle Assessment, and Sustainable Manufacturing. Throughout his career, he has gained international experience studying at UNSW – The University of New South Wales in Sydney and NTNU – Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.

From 2017 to 2020, he worked at the IAM@PoliTO laboratory, developing regression models to estimate energy consumption in AM processes. Subsequently, at J-Tech@PoliTO, he specialized in Friction Stir Welding technology for high-strength alloys and materials produced via AM, handling benchmarking with other technologies such as Arc Welding, Laser Welding, and Resistance Spot Welding, as well as microstructural characterization and computed tomography. In 2025, he held the position of R&D Specialist at Silmax S.p.A., where he was responsible for machining and drilling tests with monolithic WC tools on alloys and composites for the aerospace sector, corporate sustainability reporting, and the development of regression models to estimate the production costs of semi-special tools.

He currently works as an Advanced Manufacturing Senior Specialist at CIM 4.0, within the Additive Manufacturing line.
