Having completed the challenges dedicated to additive manufacturing, the five finalists of the CIM Innovation Talent are now tasked with facing a new and fascinating challenge centered around Artificial Intelligence. A day that takes them into the heart of technologies like computer vision, where human ingenuity and computational power converge.
Guiding them on this journey is Matteo Bandiera, Program Manager AI for Industry & Digital Integration at CIM, who leads them through a journey of machine learning, neural networks, and predictive models, encouraging them to reflect on how AI is redefining the very role of humans in the industry.
In the afternoon, theory gives way to practice. With Irma D’Arrigo, an expert in AI and Computer Vision, the finalists must train a visual recognition algorithm capable of distinguishing two identical objects made with different additive techniques. A test of precision and method, but also of intuition and the ability to explain their process clearly and consciously.
Observing and evaluating are judges Enrico Pisino and Eleonora Marino, accompanied by Claudia Franzè, a researcher at the Polytechnic University of Turin and Senior Advisor at CIM.
Only those who can combine technical rigor, critical thinking, and clear communication will stand out and move closer to the title of CIM Innovation Talent.
