An innovative real-time locating system to monitor materials and mobile carts in large areas both indoors and outdoors.
From the synergy between RF Microtech and Blue Systems comes HALLTRACK, an RTLS (Real-time locating system) based on FMCW technology, which allows the tracking of mobile objects and people in large areas such as airport hangars, industrial warehouses, and ship maintenance facilities.
Real-time tracking will significantly facilitate the construction and maintenance operations of aircraft, ships, or other equipment, reducing the time needed to locate tools and the costs of the activity.
The system is based on a set of antennas, called ANCHORS, positioned on the walls or ceiling, and TAGS, microchips a few centimeters in size, placed on the objects to be monitored. The Tag uniquely identifies the object and allows, through a dedicated app, to display the exact position of the object on a digital map.
Specifically, compared to RTLS technologies already on the market, the proposed solution offers numerous advantages:
- Ability to locate objects and people in real-time, both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to monitor even large areas with a reduced number of antennas, significantly lowering installation and maintenance costs.
- High accuracy, on the order of centimeters
- Long battery life of the Tags (multi-year)
- High scalability, system capable of adapting to floor plans of different sizes and geometries
- High versatility, usable not only for localization but also for other applications such as autonomous navigation and access control in high-risk areas.
The system will be installed and tested in an Alitalia hangar in Fiumicino, while a demo version will be installed at the CIM4.0 pilot line, allowing visitors and companies to test it.
